It was an encomium galore when on Monday, 9th November, 2020, the Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, Hon Alhassan Ado Doguwa touched the lives of thousands of his constituents in an empowerment programme that cuts across all strata of the society that held at Dadinkowa Cottage Hospital.
In his speech at the event, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt Hon Femi Gbajabiamila, congratulated the people of Tudunwada/Doguwa Federal Constituency, ‘for having a very worthy representative who has his people at heart.’ Represented by the member representing Rano/Kibiya/Bunkure Federal Constituency, and former Speaker, Kano State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Kabiru Alhassan Rurum, Gbajabiamila said Hon Doguwa is among the best members that set the pace of the House and keep constant touch with their constituencies.
In his speech, Hon Doguwa said, the empowerment programme was aimed at following the footsteps of President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, to alleviate the sufferings of his constituents, make them self-reliant and motivate security agents in fighting crimes.
He said, ‘to assist in fighting criminality in our constituency, we are donating a pick-up van and some motorcycles to each of Tudunwada and Doguwa Police Divisions.’
Other highlights of the event include the distribution of Cars to some people, motorcycles to Imams and several APC ward officials; scores of bags of rice and cash that trickled down to the polling booth levels as well as mass of bags of assorted brands of fertilizer, the constituents being predominantly agrarian.
The most conspicuous side attraction of the whole event, which was a departure from similar gestures, was how the Reps Leader remembered and feted party women leaders at polling booth levels, widows and People Living with Disabilities. These categories of the constituents received several grinding and sewing machines as well as deep freezers.
Among those who attended the occasion were Senator Mas’ud el-Jibrin Doguwa; Alhaji Usman Sule Riruwai; Alhaji Musa Salihu; the Kano State Vice Chairman of the APC, Alhaji Shehu Maigari; Members of the State Assembly representing Tudunwada and Doguwa, Hon Abdu Iliya Yaryasa and Hon Salisu Ibrahim Riruwai; Council Chairmen of Tudunwada and Doguwa, Ahmad Tijjani Musa and Aliyu Abdu Aliyu; State APC Youth Leader, Sule Lawan Shuwaki; SSA to Governor Ganduje on Transport, Alhaji Aliyu Abubakar Bullet; Managing Director of the Triumph Publishing Company, Lawal Sabo Ibrahim, APC leaders and many other dignitaries.
