Member representing Nassarawa constituency from Kano State at the House of Representatives, Alhaji Nasir Ali Ahmed has doled out the sum of N50 million to 1,000 youths in the constituency.
While handing over the sum of between N20, 000 and N10, 000 to 1,000 youths held at Government House, Kano, Hon. Ali said the gesture was intended to cushion the effect of economic hardship brought about by COVID-19 pandemic.
Ali noted that the imperativeness of such a succor to citizens could only be seen when one begins to decipher what a life of a young unemployed would be like.
He disclosed that in recent past, he ensured the training of 1,000 youth on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and provided them with working tools as well as 1,000-space-shop to each.
In his remarks, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje urged fellow legislators to borrow a leaf and come to the aid of less-privileged and youths.
Dr. Ganduje emphasised on the significance also of assisting the youths, who constituted great threat to nation’s peace and existence with the present banditry and militancy perpetrated by their majority.
