Wife of Kano State Governor, Professor Hafsat Ganduje, has been conferred with the Garkuwar Matan Najeriya award by Inuwar Matan Tijjaniyya Da Faidha.
Speaking during a Maulud Celebration organized by Inuwar Matan Tijjaniyya Da Faidha, held at Sheikh Ahmad Tijjani Juma’at Mosque Kofar Mata, Prof Hafsat Ganduje expressed happiness for the prestigious award and pledged support for the development of the association.
A statement from the Information Officer of Ministry for Religious Affairs, Usman Datti Abdullahi said, Prof Hafsat Ganduje, who was represented by the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Dr. Zahra’u Muhammad, commended the association for its humanitarian activities aimed at improving living standards of the common people in the state.
Earlier, leader of the association, Sayyada Fatima Muhammad Tahir said, presentation of the award to Prof Hafsat Ganduje was in recognition of her achievements towards improving the lives of women in the state and the country as a whole.
Sayyada Fatima then spoke extensively on the life and times of Sheikh Ahmadu Tijjani and encouraged Muslims to emulate his lifestyle.
Present at the event included Sayyada Ummuhani Sheikh Ibrahim Inyas and representatives of the Ministry for Religious Affairs among others.
