Police seeks collaborations with LGCs to curb banditry

Sokoto State Police has seek credible information and effective collaboration with local governments stakeholders to curb banditry across the state.

The State Commissiober of Police CP Kamaldeen Kola  Okunlola  stated  this during familiarisation tour  and security discussions to Gada, Illela, Kware and SaboBirni Local Government Areas of the state.

CP  Okunlola also enjoin officers and men of the command to be at alert and fortify their stations while addressing various divisions.

He also  commended  the efforts of sister agencies and the vigilante groups for their tremendous co-operations with the police.

According to him, there was thorough discussions and suggestions as the Commissioner of Police interact with them which gave rise to so many issues been raised.

The CP responded genuinely to all issues raised and all progress made so far which includes: The effort  made by Inspector-General of Police in deploying units of mobile personnel and  25 brand new vehicles promised by his Excellency the governor of sokoto state which 15 are already on ground to support operation PUFF ADDER II .

The CP added that the mandate of  community policing officers recruited from various communities are to partner with the police and  to  provide them with genuine information. 

The CP while addressing officers in various  divisions from the four local government areas visited commended their efforts and resilience in carrying out their duty and further reiterates the need for more hard work as community stakeholders count on them,while urging  all officers to be at alert and fortify their stations.
