Plateau State citizens have been charged to always keep their environment clean and safe in order to maintain a hygienic society.
Speaking over the weekend while monitoring the monthly sanitation exercise in Jos, the state Commissioner for Environment, Usman Idi, in company of Management Committee and Chairman, Jos North Local Government Council, Shehu Bala Usman to enforce the October monthly sanitation exercise, said the clean up exercise witnessed an unacceptable level of compliance occasioned by the Endsars protest which was hijacked by miscreants.
He commended Usman for his steadfastness in leaving no stone unturned for ensuring clean and healthy environment.
The team was at Ahmadu Bello and Murtala Ways, Bukuru Park, Bauchi Road as well as West of Mine.
The commissioner said the state government would intensify effort in subsequent exercises towards ensuring a clean society.
Also speaking, the chairman of the council, Usman said the monthly sanitation exercise was done in the best interest of the health and safety of the citizens.
