A gubernatorial aspirant for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2015 general elections in Katsina State, Arc. Ahmad AminuYaradua, has donated N13 million to candidates of the party contesting for the forthcoming local government elections in the state.
The amount is to assist the candidates to carry out the campaign in all nooks and crannies of the state.
Speaking while donating the amount at PDP State Secretariat, Architect Yaradua said the donation is part of his contribution to the success of the party during the election.
Yaradua noted that the money would assist and encourage the candidates to work to emerge victorious.
The former Secretary to the State Government, Yaradua, who gave detail on how the money should be shared, said each candidate contesting for the office of chairman would receive N100, 000.
He said candidates contesting for councillorship for 361 wards would receive N20, 000 each, while local government branches of the party would receive N50, 000 each.
Arc.Yaradua further said N500, 000 would be given to the party state secretariat and N100, 000 each to the office at the senatorial zones.
He called on party members in the state to rise up and ensure that the party clinches all the seats during the election.
Earlier, the state chairman of the party, AlhajiSalisuMajigiri, called for proper utilization of the amount for the benefit of the party.
