*Heads appeal for more equipment

Kano State citizens have been urged to support the state government in its efforts toward improving the health sector.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Health Services Management, Dr. Fauziyya Buba Idris made the plea when she visited Imam Wali General Hospital and Nuhu Bamalli Maternity Hospital in the Kano metropolis.
Dr. Idris said the visit was to assess the progress and achievements of facilities in the hospitals.
Speaking, the Chief Medical Officer in charge of Imam Wali Hospital, Dr. Muhammad Muktar, said the hospital was in the process of conversion to full-pledged general hospital.
He added that the hospital has different units which include Ante Natal Unit, Family Planning Unit and Immunization Unit among others.
On her part, the Principal Medical Officer in charge of Nuhu Bamalli Maternity Hospital, Dr. Halima Ibrahim Bello, said the hospital laboratory would soon start 24-hour service.
Dr. Bello requested the state government to provide an additional generator to the hospital for effective service delivery.
She then commended Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje for creating office of Special Adviser on Health Services Management, according to a statement issued by Special Advisor’s spokesman, Auwalu Musa Yola and made available to The Triumph.
