Kano State governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has expressed shock over the death of the former Military Administrator of the state, Col. Dominic Obukadata Oneya, who passed away yesterday.
In a statement made by Abba Anwar, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, it was quoted as saying: “When he was the Military Administrator of our dear state, Kano, Col. Dominic Oneya brought development to the state.
“He did his best in moving the state forward.”
Governor Ganduje said: “He was a focused leader, who knew what our people needed for the development of the state then.
“As the Commissioner of Works, Housing and Transport under him, I knew how patriotic he was. We really lost a patriotic citizen.”
Governor Ganduje requested the family of the late Military Administrator, to always look up to the good attitudes of their father, who was committed to national development and a patriotic leader.
“Kano is still reaping from the solid foundation of the late Military Administrator.
“He set good things for the state, which were copied later by other administrations,” he said.
He wished that the family would have fortitude to bear the loss.
