Ganduje dashes, commissions Kano/Jigawa MAN secretariat

For the organised private sector to thrive and wax stronger, Governor Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State donated edifice as the permanent secretariat for the Kano/Jigawa branch of Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), the kind of secretariat that remained elusive for the association since 1972.

The building is on number 500, Sheikh Nasiru Kabara City, off Zaria road, Kano, that was also commissioned by the governor, yesterday, amid leaders of the association at national and state levels, Kano and Bichi Emirs, industrialists and other private sector managers.

As appreciated by the National President of MAN, Engr. Mansur Ahmad, of Dangote Groups of Company, he said “We are very grateful Your Excellency, since 1972, this is the first time we are coming into our own edifice as our permanent secretariat in Kano/Jigawa branch.”

“As an organised private sector sir you have given us significant support for businesses to thrive, for the overall development of the state. Especially the industrial sector. We are very grateful for that Sir,” he appreciated.

After commending governor’s effort in pushing for friendly policies at the federal level, for healthy survival of the private sector, as he added that, “…we are aware of many policy prescriptions your administration is giving to this sector at the state level also.

“Vowing that, the private sector is committed to work with the state so as to boost the state economy, adding that, “We are always grateful Your Excellency.

“It is therefore on behalf of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) that we appreciate you for the good edifice you gave to us, for Kano/Jigawa branch,” he concludes.

In his remarks Governor Ganduje said, “We, as state, our responsibility is to provide enabling environment for businesses to thrive. This, will go a long way in the development of the state.

“I am happy to see that many people come to Kano to settle and engage in many lawful businesses. This is encouraging. And this happens because the state is peaceful. We all thank Almighty Allah for that,” he stated.

He assured them that, the state government is doing her best to get rid of the two major obstacles militating against “healthy businesses” as he puts it, “These are water and electricity,” he explained.

The leadership of MAN decorated the governor with an Award of Excellence, for his unrelenting effort in supporting the private sector for the overall development of the state and the country in general.

Others who were specially recognized at the occasion were the Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, Makaman Bichi, Isyaku Umar Tofa and the President of MAN, Engr. Ahmad, among others.
