Ganduje commissions Office of the Wife of Governor


*Appreciates her role in governance

Governor Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State has commissioned Office of the Wife of Governor based on her commitment towards improving the life of women and strengthen their political inclusion and participation in governance.

At the commissioning of the office  located at Ten Chalets section of the Government House, Kano, today, the governor said, “This office is for Kano women. It is also for Her Excellency, Prof. Hafsat Abdullahi Ganduje, who goes up and down to improve the lots of women in the state. She shuttles between the 44 local governments empowering women.”

While disclosing the role played by his wife, in the appointment of councillors in the 44 local governments and in the appointment of advisers to local governments chairmen, he further appreciated the role she played in the inclusion of women in governance.

“She is always thinking of how to carry women along. We came up with this office to strengthen her mission in that direction. We will continue to support her to improve the life of other women,” he stressed.
Commissioner of Women Affairs, Dr Zahara’u Umar Muhammad, Head of Service, Binta Lawan Ahmad and Woman Leader, North West zone, of All Progressives Congress (APC) Yahanasu Buba, commended the governor for providing the office.
