Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje is becoming more respected on his determination to restore good leadership by promoting traditional institution with due respect, which is a clear indication that Kano will become an examplary domain in a very near future in terms of leadership.
We are all aware that Dr. Ganduje has increased the number of Emirates to five in the state; namely, Bichi, Gaya, Rano, Karaye in addition to renowned Kano Emirate where all the four newly created ones were established for decades but due to many reasons, the state then retained its statue with only one Emirate before the creation of the above mentioned councils by the Ganduje administration.
Similarly, Ganduje has been described as the best governor who always respects the traditional institutions.
The increasing number of traditional title holders across the state is also one of the advantages seen in the state since the creation of additional four Emirates, while some of the traditional rulers were elevated to the high levels that boost excellent leadership that promotes peace and unity in the state.
Last Friday, His Highness, the Emir of Bichi, Alhaji Nasiru Ado Bayero turbaned the new District Head of Dawakin Tofa, Alhaji Isma’il Umar Ganduje, who is also the Magajin Garin Bichi in a colourful ceremony where Governor Ganduje and some top government functionaries witnessed the event.
This has shown that the governor is a leader who respects the traditional institutions like what we are witnessing whenever an issue related to traditional rulers is on course, while most of the people who spoke to newsmen at the venue of the occasion described Dr. Ganduje as a good leader who is always promoting traditional institutions not only in the state alone, but in the nation at large.
Speaking on Ganduje’s respects to traditional institutions, the Rector, Kano State Polytechnic, Dr. Kabir Bello Dungurawa said that: “His Excellency, Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje is becoming more populous due to his respects to the traditional rulers and we are certain that with traditional institutions, all programmes that are being introduced by the government tend to be successful because traditional rulers play an important role in the implementation of programmes at all levels.”
Similarly, the Village Head of Dawanau, Malam Muktar Said commended Governor Ganduje for his determination to keeping traditional institutions more useful in the state, especially at present when their contribution is getting more recognised in every situation, where he re-assured that the state would continue to be the best in promoting traditional institutions.
In his remark, the newly turbaned District Head, Alhaji Ismail Umar Ganduje, thanked all those who played a role in actualizing his turbaning, promising to work selflessly for the peaceful coexistence in his district so as to ensure progress and economic development in the Emirate.
