A total of 300 people with various cases of eye problem have been treated in Kano Municipal Local Government Area. They were treated under a free eye medical care and medicine provision scheme embarked upon by the local council. Thus, the council was undertaking a project on free eye operation intended to meet a large segment of the population of the area with eye related problems.
A statement from Malam Munzali Muhammad Hausawa, the Zonal Information Officer of the zone, made available to The Triumph, said the chairman of the area, Alhaji Faizu Alfindiki launched the scheme the premises of Marmara Paediatric Hospital in Marmara quarters. Alfindiki stressed the commitment of the council to make life better to the people of the area as part of the cardinal objectives of his administration.
The leader of the medical team, Dr. Sani said his team would work tirelessly to ensure that good eye services are rendered to the teeming populace of the area with a view to enhancing good vision to all and sundry.
On his part, the Primary Health Care Coordinator in the area, Alhaji Aliyu Jinjiri Kiru, described the exercise as a giant stride, noting that the council chairman has done similar one previously, this time around in tooth services and provision of medical equipment to various primary health centers. He called on the teeming populace of the area to cooperate with the council chairman in order to achieve the desired goals. Most of the beneficiaries, who received free medication and free eye glasses, called on him to sustain the tempo.
