The management of Dangote Cement Company has assured people of the country that they are not resting on their ores towards stabilising the price of the product through out the nation.
Speaking at a function in Kano yesterday, the Group Sales Marketing Director, Alhaji Rabiu Umar, who made the disclosure to the teeming customers of the company in the state, linked the hike in the price of the product to the current economic condition of the nation.
Alhaji Umar said the lock down occasioned by Covid-19 last year has contributed to the current scarcity of the product in the nation.
It would be recalled that last year, there was restriction of movement across the globe, which largely dwindled world’s economy.
He however said the company has introduced new strategies to normalise the situation.
According to him, the new plants they built in Edo State and other places, as well as the new vehicles they procured and enlargement of Obajana Cement Company of the group among other efforts will help in stabilising the price of the product.
He thanked the customers for honouring their invitation and being loyal to the company.
On his part, the Registrar of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), Prof. Joseph Odigwe, assured the general public that the government of the nation is not quiet about the price of the product.
In his power point presentation at the event, Engr. Ahmad Isa Kachako made an elaborate explanation on what it takes to manufacture the product.
That is, he talked on the processes followed to produce the cement vis-a-vis its various types in addition to the raw materials used in producing it.
Kachako, a chemical engineer, also explained on the other components that help in making the product solid and qualitative as well as the proper usage or application of the product in order to avoid damaging one’s building.
Madam Fumi Sani, the Marketing Director Cement of the company was not left out as she used the occasion to assure the customers and the general public that a plan is in the pipeline to increase the production of the product with a view to making it available in the nation.
She noted that when the market is saturated with goods and products definitely their prices would fall down so also the vice versa.
Questions and answers were raised and entertained by both professionals and officials of the company on areas around quality, quantity and application of the product for it to compete favourably.
In his closing remarks, Alhaji Umar reiterated the commitment of the company never to rest on its ores to give the nation the best service.
The Group Sales and Marketing Director also assured the customers that they are reachable for contact any time.
He urged them to tell the company on areas of improvement for it to serve them better, assuring further that their feedback would be taken appropriately.
