National Agency For Food, Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has honoured the Acting. Managing Director of Kano State Consumer Protection Council Hon. (Dr) Baffa Babba Dan’agundi for his effort in fighting counterfeit drugs in the state.
The State Director of NAFDAC, Pharm. Shaba Muhammad presented the award to the him when the latter paid an official visit to the NAFDAC office today.
Pharm. Shaba said NAFDAC appreciated the effort of Hon. Dan’agundi in fighting against the production and selling of counterfeit drugs in Kano which recorded tremendous success within a short period of time since he assume acting capacity.
A statement issued by the Spokesman of KSCPC’s Musbahu Aminu Yakasai and made available to The Triumph, yesterday said,
Shaba added that NAFDAC will join hand with KSCPC in the process of sanitising the state in term of producing, smuggling and selling fake drugs in Kano.
“If we work together we will be able to sanitise Kano and if we sanitise Kano we sanitise Nigeria,” he stressed.
Earlier, Dan’agundi said he visited NAFDAC in order to seek for their collaboration in fighting against counterfeit and illicit drugs in the state.
He said the agency engaged in scouting for those who are in the business of producing and selling of counterfeit drugs in the state.
He then called on NAFDAC to look for ways that will make the registration of products easier without taking long time.
The acting managing director was accompanied by the representatives of Drugs Sellers Association, Kano branch.
